Latest COVID-19 Nursing Home Numbers In Long Branch, Eatontown

LONG BRANCH, NJ — More than half of New Jersey’s coronavirus deaths are tied to longterm-care facilities. Here is the state’s data for Long Branch and Eatontown.

  • Gateway Care Center, Eatontown: 100 cases and 25 deaths among residents, 34 cases among staff

  • Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch: 45 cases and seven deaths among residents, 17 cases among staff

  • Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown: 13 cases and one death among residents, eight cases among staff

Around New Jersey, 547 longterm-care facilities have had coronavirus outbreaks, accounting for 22,811 cases and 6,091 deaths among residents, as well as 11,283 cases and 109 deaths among staff.

Sweeping changes are coming to long-term care facilities to repair the deficiencies exposed and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Gov. Phil Murphy.

Speaking at his Wednesday COVID-19 briefing, Murphy said that the goal is to fix the system in both the short and the long term.
