Discovery Bay golfers host Home and Home event

The Discovery Bay Women’s Golfing Club hosted the yearly Home and Home golfing function, with a head-to-head matchup in opposition to the ladies of the Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Club.

The rivals joined up Thursday, July 21 in the sunny, pristine climate for a working day of drives, putts, and chip pictures, and the golfers welcomed 24 gamers and 12 teams to the celebration.

The Discovery Bay Women’s Golf Club fought tricky on their residence turf, but the Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Club arrived out on prime with an all round rating of 8.5 more than the hosts’ 3.5 tally.

Some noteworthy very first-time wins in the celebration for the Discovery Bay girls incorporated Barb Aldrich, Terry Graham, and Dee Sweeney. Aldrich and Sweeney competed to the conclusion, with each golfer winning her match on Hole 18. Cindy Breed of Discovery Bay also contributed to the closing rating by tying her match with the Dungeness competitor.

Even though the gals of Cedars at Dungeness have been awarded the Residence and House trophy for the all round earn, ladies from both of those clubs gained Closest to the Pin (KP) and Most Accurate Push awards. Aldrich gained the KP award on Gap 3 (11 toes and 1 inch), while Anne Elwell received KP on the exact same hole for a various division (24 feet). Additional KP winners contain Marine Hirschfeld on Gap 14 (6 ft and 1 inch) and Lori Oakes (18 ft and 4 inches) on Hole 14. Pursuing the Home and Home competition, ladies from both golf equipment appreciated a buffet lunch together at the Discovery Bay system while the winners were being declared.

The golfers celebrated the summer weather and rounded out the once-a-year event with food stuff and laughter. The club seems to be ahead to competing in upcoming year’s Residence and Property function, which will be hosted by the girls of the Cedars at Dungeness in Sequim.
