Maine man charged with home repair fraud, accused of stealing $25K from elderly woman


A Maine man is accused of home repair fraud after deputies said he took $25,000 from an 83-year-old woman.The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said the woman gave the money to Tony Glidden, of Mainely Roofing and Siding, LLC last fall to replace windows in her home.Deputies said the money was meant to purchase materials, but the work was never completed.Glidden, 33, of Waterville, was arrested on Saturday and charged with home repair fraud and theft by deception.Deputies said they believe there might be other victims in the central Maine area and encourage people to reach out to law enforcement.
